While working at the Christian Book Outlet located in the Concord Mills Mall I have the great privilege of finding some terrific deals, reading some really great books as well as familiarizing myself with many wonderful authors. Recently I purchased Helen Steiner Rice’s paperback book titled “A Collection of Love Gifts”. This poem on prayer inspired me and I hope that it will touch your heart as well.
On The Wings of Prayer

Just close your eyes
And open your heart
And feel your worries
And cares depart,
Just yield yourself
To the Father above
Secure in His love-
For life on earth
Grows more involved
With endless problems
That can’t be solved-
But God only asks us
To do our best,
Then He will take over
And finish the rest-
So when you are tired,
Discouraged, and blue,
There’s always one door
That is open to you-
And that is the door
To the house of prayer
And you’ll find God waiting
To meet you there,
And the house of prayer
Is not farther away
Than the quiet spot
Where you kneel and pray-
For the heart is the temple
When God is there
As we place ourselves
In His loving care,
And He hears every prayer
And answers each one
When we pray in His name
“Thy will be done”-
And the burdens that seemed
Too heavy to bear
Are lifted away
On the wings of prayer.

Be Encouraged - Follow your destiny – 1 Peter 2:9
Follow your destiny wherever it leads you. Walk your path and a step at a time, with courage, faith, and determination. Keep your head up and cast your dreams to the stars. Soon your steps will become firm and your footing will be solid again. A path that you never imagined will become the most comfortable direction you could have ever hoped to follow. Keep your belief focused on the Lord and walk into your new journey. You will find it magnificent, spectacular, and beyond your wildest imaginings.
“We are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, God’s own special people, who had not obtained mercy but now have mercy. For whom He foreknew, He also predestined to be conformed to the image of His Son, that He might be the firstborn among many brethren. Moreover whom He predestined, He also called; whom He called, He also justified; and whom He justified, He also glorified”. Glory and honor to God, Our Lord Jesus Christ this day, Amen.

My Obedience To The Lord

It seems that the Lord has impressed upon my heart these past few weeks that in obedience to Him I should continue to write the blog. While doing so I will lift up His Holy name and encourage those of you who are interested in reading it. In response to His request it is not about me but about hearing and being sensitive to His word that He gives me while studying the scriptures He puts before me.
Although you may be going through a deep valley and feel disappointment at this time in your journey with the Lord I am writing today to embrace you and with my love and tell you that you are not alone. I am lifting you up in prayer and God is walking with you by your side.
The Lord has placed upon my heart that this is a season for change. It might be a change within us personally, a change in our surroundings, or whatever change may be. Anything in our lives that draws us away from God is not of God. Spring is upon us and it is time to shake away the bad habits of life so that the flowers in our hearts that show God’s beauty can bloom through us. It is time for Him to shine His light in us where there is darkness. We have all suffered life’s catastrophes, disappointments and hurts as some it seems more than others, but we need to lift ourselves out of the pit, put the past behind us and take a stand for what is right so that it will change our life and other’s lives for God’s glory.
