A Listening Heart

Psalm 46:10 (New International Version)
"Be still, and know that I am God;
I will be exalted among the nations,
I will be exalted in the earth."

A Listening Heart

C.S. Lewis “The moment you wake up each morning…all your wishes and hopes for the day rush at you like wild animals. And the first job each morning consists in shoving them all back; in listening to that other voice, taking that other point of view, letting that other; larger, stronger quieter life come flowing in.”

Let us not forget that prayer is like talking. It involves a relaxed sense of quiet. Often we need to wait in the Lord’s presence for His comfort, insight or guiding word. Psalm 46:10 reminds us to pause long enough to reflect on the Lord. Fruitful prayer relies not just on an active mind or a busy tongue but on a quiet heart that listens for God.
