Praise To You Lord Jesus - God Our Father Almighty

Psalm 145
A Psalm of Praise of David
1 [a]” I will exalt you, my God the King; I will praise your name for ever and ever. 2 Every day I will praise you and extol your name for ever and ever. 3 Great is the LORD and most worthy of praise; his greatness no one can fathom. 4 One generation will commend your works to another; they will tell of your mighty acts. 5 They will speak of the glorious splendor of your majesty, and I will meditate on your wonderful works. [b] 6 They will tell of the power of your awesome works, and I will proclaim your great deeds. 7 They will celebrate your abundant goodness and joyfully sing of your righteousness. 8 The LORD is gracious and compassionate; slow to anger and rich in love. 9 The LORD is good to all; he has compassion on all he has made. 10 All you have made will praise you, O LORD; your saints will extol you. 11 They will tell of the glory of your kingdom and speak of your might, 12 so that all men may know of your mighty acts and the glorious splendor of your kingdom. 13 Your kingdom is an everlasting kingdom, and your dominion endures through all generations. The LORD is faithful to all his promises and loving toward all he has made. [c] 14 The LORD upholds all those who fall and lifts up all who are bowed down. 15 The eyes of all look to you, and you give them their food at the proper time. 16 You open your hand and satisfy the desires of every living thing. 17 The LORD is righteous in all his ways
and loving toward all he has made. 18 The LORD is near to all who call on him, to all who call on him in truth. 19 He fulfills the desires of those who fear him; he hears their cry and saves them. 20 The LORD watches over all who love him, but all the wicked he will destroy. 21 My mouth will speak in praise of the LORD. Let every creature praise his holy name for ever and ever”.

What is the chief end of humankind? The answer, learned by us being taught in faith is, “To glorify God and prepare ourselves to live eternally with Him forever”. To glorify God is to give “God” glory, as we honor Him as “Glorious”. It is to fill our prayers with joyous remembrances of His goodness. There are over 200 passages alone in the New Testament that urge or describe praise and thanksgiving to God. The words themselves take on astonishing variety; in addition to glorify are bless, thank, worship magnify, and extol just to name a few. We can uncover a rich vocabulary of praise such as Psalm 145 that is in the Old Testament as fine examples as well.

In our praise to God we need to focus on God’s wonderful nature as we express our gratitude for all of our blessings. In doing so it will remind us that being joyful, praying continually, and giving thanks in all circumstances fit together into God’s will for our lives.

My Prayer: Heavenly Father God Almighty, I pray that we will all give thanks to you Our Father… let our hearts stay opened to hear your voice and feel your touch. I pray that we will give thanks for prayers not answered yet…We have an awesome God…You have promised to move in all of our lives…but we have not seen anything yet…Thank You for Your promise…for we believe in Your miracles…We believe in you Father God…Thank you for a baby’s smile to a beautiful sunset touched with your glory…Everywhere we look we can see Your hand Father God walking with us each step of the way…I pray our hearts will stay humble so that we will always give you praise and say “thank you” Lord Jesus…Amen
