It is Not About Us - It is About Him and What He Wants to do In Our Lives

Matthew 7:3 (New International Version)
3"Why do you look at the speck of sawdust in your brother's eye and pay no attention to the plank in your own eye?
Because we are obedient to the Lord and extend His love and grace to one of His needy children, Jesus is able to shine His light into our hearts and convict us.

Our standard should be God’s perfection and not just to be a better Christian. The amazing thing about God’s grace is that when He looks down at us He sees no difference between us and others. Very often walking the road where we must be quiet and let our light shine before others can be very difficult. It takes patience and faith because we usually do not see quick results.

What a difference it makes in our relationship in the body of Christ when we begin to focus on refining our own walk with the Lord instead of trying to fix others.

Matthew 7:3-5 (The Message)
1-5 "Don't pick on people, jump on their failures, and criticize their faults— unless, of course, you want the same treatment. That critical spirit has a way of boomeranging. It's easy to see a smudge on your neighbor's face and be oblivious to the ugly sneer on your own. Do you have the nerve to say, 'Let me wash your face for you,' when your own face is distorted by contempt? It's this whole traveling road-show mentality all over again, playing a holier-than-thou part instead of just living your part. Wipe that ugly sneer off your own face, and you might be fit to offer a washcloth to your neighbor.

We must not pick on people, jump on their failures and criticize their faults – unless of course we want to receive the same treatment.

We are called to intercede in prayer instead of interfering in God’s plan. God is quite capable of teaching and convicting others without our help. We are much more effective talking to God about the sin we see in someone else’s life than we are in talking directly to them.

We need to keep in mind that Jesus Christ took on the sins of all mankind and died on the cross in our place.

Colossians 3:12 (New International Version)
12Therefore, as God's chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience.

My Prayer: I asked You Heavenly Father God Almighty to give us Your love for the body of Christ so that we can praise You. We are saved and sanctified by Your grace and not our works or behavior. I pray that we answer Your call for reconciliation in the body of Christ and that we do not betray You in secret on Sunday by putting on our public mask. It is by Your grace that we are no different than Judas. Dear Father God, I pray that You will teach us how to be true examples of how we should live and show us how to let go of others by allowing You to clean them up. May we learn this day that it is not about us and that it is about what you want to do in our lives that truly matters.
